What to include on a UK invoice
For a clear business invoice, include a unique invoice number, your business name and address, your customer’s name and address, a description of the work or goods, the invoice date, supply date, amounts charged, VAT if applicable, and the total owed.
Sole traders using a business name should also show their own name and an address where legal documents can be delivered. Limited companies should use their full registered company name. VAT invoices require additional details, including the VAT registration number and VAT breakdown.
